What types of notarial services does the Ukrainian Consulate in Edinburgh provide, and do I need to book an appointment in advance?
Greetings 👋
My name is Alexander, I am your personal manager. Let me help you!
05.11.2025 11:05:55 The Consulate of Ukraine in Edinburgh provides a wide range of notarial services in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Notariate” and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations. These include certification of signatures on powers of attorney, statements, and consent letters; authentication of document copies; preparation of affidavits; certification of translations; and verification of documents for use in Ukraine. The Consulate also handles wills, property-related authorizations, and applications for children’s travel consent. All notarial actions are performed exclusively by appointment to ensure verification of documents and identity. Appointments must be booked in advance through the Consulate’s official online booking system, as walk-ins are not accepted. Applicants should bring valid Ukrainian identification and originals of the documents to be notarized.
05.11.2025 11:10:26 At the Ukrainian Consulate in Edinburgh, notarial services include the legalization and certification of documents, attestation of signatures, issuance of powers of attorney, verification of copies and translations, and witnessing of declarations intended for use in Ukraine. Consular officers are authorized to act as notaries under Ukrainian law, providing legal authenticity to documents executed abroad. Due to high demand, all notarial services require prior appointment — scheduling is done exclusively via the Consulate’s online appointment platform. Clients must attend in person with a valid passport and supporting documentation. It is advisable to review specific document requirements in advance, as incomplete paperwork or missing identification may result in rescheduling or refusal of the notarial act.
