The Consulate’s role is to formalize this status through the registration of citizenship and, if desired, the issuance of a Ukrainian passport or travel document. To proceed, parents must submit the child’s UK birth certificate (legalized or apostilled and translated into Ukrainian), parents’ Ukrainian passports, and a joint written application. If only one parent is applying, consent from the other is typically required. Once verified, the Consulate issues a certificate of citizenship confirmation and records the child in Ukraine’s State Register, enabling future passport applications and consular services.
