04.11.2025 09:12:37 To obtain a temporary travel document for a Ukrainian child born in the United Kingdom who must travel urgently to Ukraine, the parent or legal guardian should apply in person at the nearest Consulate of Ukraine (London, Manchester, or Edinburgh). The process requires presenting the child’s UK birth certificate (showing at least one Ukrainian parent), parents’ valid Ukrainian passports, and proof of travel urgency such as medical or flight documents. If the birth certificate has not yet been registered in Ukraine, the Consulate can first issue a Ukrainian birth registration certificate based on the UK document, which must be legalized and translated. Once verified, the Consulate issues a temporary travel document valid for one single return trip to Ukraine, typically within a few business days, subject to case urgency.
04.11.2025 09:45:00 In urgent cases when a Ukrainian child born in the UK needs to return to Ukraine but has no valid passport, the Consulate may issue a temporary travel document (“posvidchennia na povernennia v Ukrainu”). The parent must submit an application along with the child’s UK birth certificate, proof of Ukrainian citizenship of at least one parent, passport copies, and, if applicable, written consent from the other parent. The Consulate verifies the documents and confirms the child’s citizenship status before issuing the document, which is valid only for direct travel to Ukraine. It cannot be used for transit through third countries. This document ensures the child’s legal entry and subsequent passport issuance in Ukraine.
