Therefore, if you hold both Ukrainian and British citizenship, the Consulate will treat you solely as a citizen of Ukraine when you apply for consular services. You must present your valid Ukrainian passport or ID to access services such as passport renewal, notarial actions, or registration of civil status events. The Consulate cannot issue documents or perform legal acts on the basis of your British passport. However, it may acknowledge your second nationality for practical matters, such as confirming UK residency or identity verification with local authorities. It is essential to ensure your Ukrainian documents remain valid and updated, as consular actions are based exclusively on your Ukrainian legal status.

03.11.2025 10:28:13 If you possess both Ukrainian and British citizenship, the Ukrainian Consulate operates under the presumption that you are a Ukrainian national within its jurisdiction, in accordance with Article 2 of the Law “On Citizenship of Ukraine.” This means that all consular procedures—passport issuance, registration, or notarization—must be carried out using your Ukrainian passport. The Consulate does not recognize or process requests made under your British citizenship, as Ukraine considers only its own citizenship for legal relations with its nationals. Nonetheless, the British passport may be used solely for travel or local identification in the UK. For any consular application, you must submit Ukrainian documents, and your records will be maintained strictly under your Ukrainian nationality.
