Нещодавно нашій команді поставили запитання: “How can I apply for a work visa after studying in the UK? Looking for an immigration lawyer in Cambridge”

Ми хочемо поділитися відповідями наших фахівців:

25.09.2025 09:11:25 After completing your studies in the UK, you may be eligible to apply for a work visa under various categories, depending on your circumstances and career plans. Here are some common options: 1. **Graduate Route Visa**: This is available to international students who have completed an undergraduate degree or higher in the UK. It allows you to stay and work, or look for work, in the UK for up to two years (or three years for doctoral students) after graduation. 2. **Skilled Worker Visa**: If you have a job offer from a UK employer that holds a valid sponsorship license, you can apply for this visa. The job must meet certain skill and salary criteria. 3. **Start-up and Innovator Visas**: If you have an innovative business idea and want to set up a business in the UK, these visas might be suitable for you. 4. **Tier 5 (Temporary Worker) Visa**: This category includes several subcategories such as Youth Mobility Scheme, Government Authorised Exchange, etc., which might be relevant depending on your situation. To navigate the application process smoothly, it’s advisable to consult with an immigration lawyer who can provide personalized advice based on your specific case. Here are some steps to find an immigration lawyer in Cambridge: 1. **Research Online**: Use search engines to look for immigration lawyers or law firms in Cambridge specializing in immigration law. 2. **Check Legal Directories**: Websites like The Law Society’s Find a Solicitor service or Chambers and Partners can help locate reputable lawyers nearby. 3. **University Resources**: If you're still at university, check if they offer any legal advice services or can recommend local immigration lawyers. 4. **Recommendations**: Ask fellow graduates or colleagues if they know of any reliable immigration lawyers. 5. **Consultations**: Many lawyers offer initial consultations where you can discuss your needs and understand their approach before committing. Remember to verify the credentials of any lawyer or firm you consider working with by checking reviews and their standing with professional bodies like The Law Society of England and Wales.

26.09.2025 10:52:09 If you’ve completed your studies in the UK, one option is the Graduate visa, which lets you stay for 2 years (3 for PhD graduates) to work or look for work without sponsorship. You must apply before your Student visa expires, and your course must be eligible and successfully completed. If you want to stay longer or work in a sponsored role, you can switch to a Skilled Worker visa if you receive a job offer from a UK employer licensed as a sponsor. This requires a Certificate of Sponsorship, meeting the minimum salary threshold, and proving your English knowledge (already covered by your studies). Applications are submitted online with supporting documents like your passport, BRP, degree confirmation, and job details if applying for a Skilled Worker visa. An immigration lawyer in Cambridge can advise on the best route, check eligibility, and help ensure your application is properly prepared to avoid delays or refusals.

26.09.2025 12:32:38 If you finish studying in the UK, you have two main routes to stay and work. The first is the Graduate visa, which lets you remain for 2 years (3 if you completed a PhD) to work or look for work without sponsorship. You must apply before your Student visa expires and prove you completed an eligible course. The second option is switching to a Skilled Worker visa, if you receive a job offer from a licensed UK sponsor. This requires a Certificate of Sponsorship from your employer, meeting the salary threshold, and submitting documents like your passport, BRP, and confirmation of your degree. Skilled Worker visas last longer and can lead to settlement. Both applications are made online and include paying the application fee and Immigration Health Surcharge, plus attending a biometric appointment. An immigration lawyer in Cambridge can advise which route best suits you and guide you through the process to avoid mistakes.

26.09.2025 16:37:48 We are in London, but we can work online. you can switch from a Student visa to a Work visa from inside the UK without leaving the country, provided you meet all requirements. Skilled Worker visa (most common route): Requires a job offer from a UK employer that is a licensed sponsor. The job must meet the eligible occupation list and minimum salary threshold (£37500/year or £23,040/year if on shortage occupation, with exceptions for new entrants).Employer must issue you a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).You must meet the English language requirement (already satisfied if you studied in the UK).Graduate visa-if you have successfully completed your degree in the UK.Valid for 2 years (or 3 years for PhD graduates).Doesn’t require a sponsoring employer. However, it cannot be extended — after it expires, you would need to switch to a Skilled Worker visa. You must apply before your current Student visa expires. Proof of English language ability.
